Family-friendly itinerary idea
A first day surrounded by nature
The trip can start at Omega Park. In your vehicle, you’ll drive through a vast area where animals roam in semi-freedom. Children are often fascinated, especially when it’s time to feed the elk. Wolves, bison, arctic foxes… every section of the route offers its own sights to see. And to extend the experience, Oniro, a nighttime walking tour, transforms the forest into a theater of light and sound.
A well-deserved gourmet break
After a busy day, it’s time for a break. In Montebello, the Zouk offers a family-friendly dining option. The atmosphere is laid-back, the menu appeals to both kids and adults, and the log cabin decor adds a warm touch. And why not take the opportunity to stop by one of the dairies in the area to end on a sweet note.
Sleep and play
For the night, the Camping Saint-André-Avellin offers a variety of lodging options, from travel trailers to ready-to-camp sites. Everything is right on-site: a swimming pool, water games, mini-golf, a playground, and, of course, the chance to paddle on the Petite Nation River. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend the day, before wrapping things up around the campfire.
Explore nature
The next day, we headed to the Parc national de Plaisance. We alternate between biking, kayaking, and hiking. The Zizanie-des-Marais trail, with its boardwalks on stilts, lets you explore the wetlands in a different way, at a leisurely pace. For a change of pace, the Cabriol Farm in Papineauville offers a unique experience, blending art and animal encounters. A visit here often sparks curiosity in both children and adults alike.
Having fun by the water
At the Centre touristique du Lac-Simon, summer activities take center stage. A large beach, play structures, a giant trampoline, boat rentals… everything you need to enjoy the water and the great outdoors. You can even stay right there, just steps from the lake. Nearby, a mini-golf course run by the municipality lets you add a simple and accessible activity to your itinerary.
Get moving and enjoy
And for those looking for a change of scenery, the Fairmont Le Château Montebello also offers several family-friendly amenities, including a pool, trails, and outdoor activities. Just a few minutes away, Montebello Vélo de Montagne offers a different way to get active, with trails suitable for all skill levels. The rental center makes it easy to gear up and set off on an adventure!
Simple and affordable options
To make the most of your stay without breaking the bank, check out the offer from Circonflexe – Ready to Move lets you borrow equipment for free at select service locations—a simple way to enjoy activities without having to buy your own gear.
And already I’m looking forward to coming back
In the end, it’s hard to do everything in a single trip. And that’s kind of the point. Take your time, pick a few stops, and leave yourself reasons to come back.
