Gateway to the Outaouais
Located at the western edge of the region, Fassett is known as the gateway to the Outaouais. The municipality lies along the Ottawa River, Quebec’s largest river, which has historically served as a trade route for copper, furs, and timber, playing a key role in the country’s history and development.
Today, the Waterways allows visitors to follow in the footsteps of the explorers and travelers who used the river and its tributaries as their primary routes, offering beautiful views of this vast river corridor.
A ferry also connects Fassett to Ontario, allowing you to reach Lefaivre and extend your getaway to the other side of the river.
If you're passing through the village, you'll want to stop by Casse-Croûte Au Casseau, a well-known spot for a simple, friendly gourmet break.
