A protected area shaped by water and the seasons
Plaisance, a name that evokes the gentle beauty of a landscape shaped by the Ottawa River. Tranquil bays, shimmering ponds, vibrant wetlands, and floodplains come together to form a vibrant setting where nature flourishes. In the spring, the sky comes alive with the spectacular passage of thousands of Canada geese. In the summer, the park becomes a haven for ducks, herons, ospreys, and many other species, much to the delight of birdwatchers.
The river’s gentle breeze sweeps across the Petite Presqu’île, causing the tall grasses to sway and enveloping campers in a peaceful atmosphere. Spanning over 28 km² of protected area, the park offers more than 40 km of bike paths, over 6 km of hiking trails, and a variety of lodging options including 150 campsites, 3 yurts, and 27 ready-to-camp units. Starting in spring 2026, 13 new Étoile ready-to-camp units will be added to the Buttes and Cédrière loops, including one that is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.
A place for contemplation, exploration, and hands-on scientific discovery, Parc national de Plaisance visitors to slow down, observe, and gain a deeper understanding of the richness of its natural environments.
