A protected area shaped by water and the seasons
Plaisance, a name that evokes the gentle landscape shaped by the Ottawa River. Quiet bays, sparkling ponds, vibrant marshes, and floodplains make up a living backdrop where nature expresses itself fully. In spring, the sky comes alive with the spectacular passage of thousands of Canada geese. In summer, the park becomes a privileged refuge for ducks, herons, ospreys, and many other species, much to the delight of birdwatchers.
The breeze from the river blows across the Petite Presqu’île, rustling the tall grass and enveloping campers in a peaceful atmosphere. Covering more than 28 km² of protected area, the park offers over 40 km of bike paths, more than 6 km of hiking trails, and a variety of accommodations, including 150 campsites, 3 yurts, and 27 ready-to-camp units. Starting in spring 2026, 13 new Étoile ready-to-camp units will be added in the Buttes and Cédrière loops, including one that is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.
A place for contemplation, exploration, and participatory scientific discovery, Parc national de Plaisance to slow down, observe, and better understand the richness of its natural environments.
