Ripon Trad 2025: a vibrant rendezvous with tradition

A varied and unifying program

The event kicks off on Thursday, September 11, in collaboration with the Symposium d'art in situ organized by the Centre d'action culturelle. This festive 5 à 7 vernissage at the Coopérative Place du Marché will feature traditional music in a convivial atmosphere.

In the evening, the stage lights up with a feminine breeze as the vocal trio Chant d'Ellesthe duo Archetype Trad and the eagerly-awaited return of Lilas l'bon tempsfor a first evening dedicated to the power of women's voices.

On Fridays, a major new feature is added to the program: La virée gourmande, a musical and gastronomic escapade in three bucolic Ripon venues - Le Centre de vie, La Fille du boulanger and Domaine Mont-Vézeau. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., participants will enjoy intimate musical moments with the groups Frères et FrackSam & Mila and Ceciliawhile sampling local products.

An unforgettable "Vent de l'Est" evening

On Friday evening, Ripon will host a colorful Soirée de l'Est. The party kicks off in the public square with the band La Déferlance and their wild cuddly dance. Under the big top, performances by La Famille Leblancthe legendary trio Vishtèn - and the festive group Quimorucru. Late-nighters will be treated to Les Filles du Roywho take to the stage at the Coopérative Place du Marché for a late-night show.

Saturday: tradition, reunion and celebration

Saturday promises to be a jam-packed day, with over 35 acoustic concerts and workshops scattered throughout the village, many of them in private or heritage venues. A unique opportunity to rediscover Ripon in a different way, in a warm and authentic atmosphere.

In the evening, the spotlight will be on a highlight: the highly anticipated return of the Arc-en-son group, a veritable legend of Petite Nation trad music, alongside Nicolas Pellerin et les Grands Hurleurs and Le Diable à Cinqwho will be celebrating 10 years of international touring with an exclusive show.

Sunday: relaxation and a gentle closing

Sunday morning will be dedicated to families, with a series of free activities in the main square. Then, to round off the festival in style, an indoor show by the group D'accoutuméewith none other than Claude Méthé (co-founder of Le Rêve du Diable), will offer an intimate performance, ending on a sweet and moving note.

A unique atmosphere and rising attendance

With a record 8,500 festival-goers expected, the event is growing in size while retaining its human and festive character. Rue Guay will be pedestrianized, with entertainment by theGatineau Folk Ensemble and its traditional farandole, and scenographer Samuelle Desjardins returns to enhance the festival sites.

This 6th edition promises to be one of the most successful to date, with nostalgic moments, artistic discoveries, celebrations of local talent and intergenerational gatherings.
