Drive through the heart of history and nature, any time of year
In Petite Nation, Montebello Vélo de Montagne an impressive 30-km network of trails accessible year-round. It is the largest fatbike network in the Outaouais region, including Fat Papineau, the longest fatbike trail in Quebec.
Designed for all skill levels—from families to experienced cyclists—the trails wind through the historic estates of Louis-Joseph Papineau, set against a natural backdrop that is both majestic and surprising.
Every outing offers its own share of discoveries: spectacular views of the Ottawa River, a passage through a cave, a dense forest of century-old pine trees, and an encounter with a millennia-old monolith. The experience takes place in an authentic setting, led by a team of mountain biking enthusiasts who are proud to showcase a site that has been a pioneer of the sport in Quebec since the 1980s.
The reception pavilion, the rental center, and the main parking lot are located right at Fairmont Le Château Montebello. Staying on-site means you can set off on an adventure just a few steps from your room. A second parking area is also available for vanlife enthusiasts.
A full fleet of electric-assist fatbikes—the Spherik SEF4 and SEF6 models—is available for rent. These e-fatbikes make the trails even more accessible thanks to their pedal assistance, which is ideal for riding farther, exploring more areas, and fully enjoying the scenery, both in summer and winter.
