In Petite Nation, Montebello Vélo de Montagne an impressive network of 30 km of trails accessible year-round. It is the largest fatbike network in the Outaouais region, including Fat Papineau, the longest fatbike trail in Quebec.
Designed for riders of all levels, from families to seasoned cyclists, the trails wind through the historic estates of Louis-Joseph Papineau, set against a natural backdrop that is both majestic and surprising.
Every outing offers its own unique discoveries: spectacular views of the Ottawa River, a passage through a cave, a dense forest of century-old pine trees, and an encounter with a thousand-year-old monolith. The experience takes place in an authentic setting, led by a team of mountain biking enthusiasts who are proud to promote a site that has been a pioneer of the sport in Quebec since the 1980s.
The reception pavilion, the rental center, and the main parking lot are located right at Fairmont Le Château Montebello. Staying on-site means you can set off on an adventure just steps from your room. A second parking lot is also available for vanlife enthusiasts.
A full fleet of electric fatbikes—the Spherik SEF4 and SEF6 models—is available for rent. These e-fatbikes make the trails even more accessible thanks to their pedal assistance, which is ideal for riding farther, exploring more areas, and fully enjoying the scenery, summer and winter alike.
