Montebello Vélo de Montagne
Activities
Ride through history and nature, in every season
In Petite Nation, Montebello Vélo de Montagne offers an impressive 30 km network of trails open in both summer and winter. It is the largest fatbike trail network in the Outaouais, including Fat Papineau, the longest fatbike trail in Quebec.
Designed for all skill levels, from families to experienced riders, the trails wind through the historic seigneurial lands of Louis-Joseph Papineau, surrounded by striking and varied natural scenery.
Every ride brings something new to discover: spectacular views of the Ottawa River, a passage beneath a cave, dense stands of century-old pines and even an ancient monolith. The experience is rooted in an authentic setting and supported by a passionate mountain biking team proud to showcase a site that has played a pioneering role in the sport in Quebec since the 1980s.
The welcome pavilion, rental centre and main parking area are located directly at Fairmont Le Château Montebello, making it easy for hotel guests to hit the trails just steps from their room. A second parking area is also available for vanlife enthusiasts.
A complete fleet of electric-assist fatbikes, including Spherik SEF4 and SEF6 models, is available for rent. These e-fatbikes make the trails even more accessible thanks to pedal assistance, allowing riders to go farther, explore more of the network and fully enjoy the scenery in every season.
