A Tribute to a Local Legend

Quebec’s National Holiday is also an opportunity to highlight a different commemorative theme each year. In 2026, this theme holds special significance for the region, as it marks the 75th anniversary of the birth of Guy Lafleur, a native of Thurso and a true legend of Quebec hockey. Known for his elegant skating, powerful shot, and charisma, Guy Lafleur left his mark on several generations. Far beyond hockey, he held a unique place in the hearts of Quebecers. For many, he was part of the family.
