September 19-21, 2025, Montpellier

Set course for the Viking world: this year, the Festival Médiéval de Montpellier transports you into the fascinating world of the Nordic peoples. Far from the clichés of drakkars and pillaging, the 2025 edition highlights the richness of everyday Viking life: a culture both down-to-earth and deeply spiritual.

With the faithful participation of the Hullsborg Troupe and the arrival of Viking clans from Quebec and Europe, this weekend promises a real journey back in time. Let yourself be surprised by a culture where nature, legends and ancestral know-how are one and the same.

A lively, unifying experience

The Festival Médiéval de Montpellier offers a rich program designed to amaze young and old alike. Whether you're a history buff, a fan of immersive experiences or simply curious to experience something different, get ready to plunge into a vibrant, authentic world.

Here's a taste of what's in store:

- Demonstrations of ancient skills: blacksmithing, weaving, herbalism, witchcraft... a return to forgotten gestures;
- Duels and equestrian jousts, featuring strength, skill and panache;
- Shows and rituals, accompanied by haunting Nordic music;
- Market and craft fair, brimming with local creations, gourmet finds and unique objects;
- Children's area with games, entertainment and a medieval world for youngsters;
- Viking feasts and festive evenings in a brand-new gourmet village designed for bon vivants;
- Equestrian activities and skill competitions to discover or admire the talents of specialists.

And to quench your thirst for mead or other brewing discoveries, the Brasseurs de Montebello await you with their creations, among other period-inspired beverages.
