Hunting Zone 10 East

Moose with antlers 10 cm or longer

• Bow and Crossbow: September 26–October 12, 2026

No firearm hunting season is scheduled for moose in Zone 10 East in 2026.

Please note: A special permit, obtained by lottery, is required to harvest a moose without antlers.

White-tailed deer with antlers 7 cm or longer

• Bow and Crossbow: October 3–16, 2026
• Rifles, muzzle-loading firearms, bows, and crossbows: October 17–21, 2026
• Firearms, bows, and crossbows: November 7–22, 2026

October 31 and November 1, 2026, are set aside for the "Relève" weekend, in accordance with government guidelines.

Réserve faunique de Papineau-Labelle

The big-game hunting seasons announced for 2026 are as follows:

• September 21–October 8: Moose hunting season
• October 9–15: Combined moose and white-tailed deer hunt
• November 2–21: White-tailed deer hunting season

During these periods, access to certain areas and participation in recreational activities may be restricted. Before visiting the Reserve, check Sépaq’s up-to-date information or contact its staff to find out which areas are accessible.

Hiking and Hunting: Sharing the Forest Safely

fall a wonderful season for hiking the trails and enjoying the scenery. By taking a few precautions, hikers and hunters can share the land more harmoniously:

• Check the hunting seasons and local restrictions before you leave.
• Wear brightly colored clothing, ideally fluorescent orange.
• Avoid natural colors such as brown, beige, white, and green.
• Stay on the marked trails.
• Keep your dog on a leash and make sure it is clearly visible.
• Please obey traffic signs and temporary road closures.
• Let someone know your itinerary and your expected return time.

⚠️ On the Route des Zingues, during big-game hunting seasons in the Réserve faunique de Papineau-Labelle, stay only in the section between points P1 and P2.
