When Art Draws Inspiration from the River
As part of the L’énergie de la Lièvre symposium held in 2019 in Val-des-Bois, eight professional artists created works inspired by the Lièvre River, its history, its power, and its movement. Installed near the community centre, these sculptures now form a public art trail that is accessible to everyone.
- Michel Saulnier (Saint-Jean-Port-Joli) – Molinari, the Bear and the Hare
- Michelle Lemire (Ripon) – Cradle
- Mélodie Coutou (Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix) – High Voltage
- Michael Kinghorn (Wakefield) – The Diver
- Denis Marceau (Denholm) – Whirlpools of Time
- Marie-Josée Leroux (Montréal) – Kitchabou
- Annie Pelletier (Trois-Rivières) – Taking Flight!
- Joanne Migneault (Gatineau) and Martine-Carole Gagnon (Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson) – The Link. That Morning, Beneath the Water…, a collective work created under their artistic direction.
Each sculpture offers a unique interpretation of the L’énergie de la Lièvre theme, transforming the site into an open-air gallery where contemporary art engages in dialogue with the natural landscape of Val-des-Bois. And while you’re there, be sure to discover le Sentier du Lièvre.
