A Spiritual and Natural Heritage to Explore
Located behind the Louis-Joseph Papineau Comprehensive High School, the Montfortian Fathers’ trails offer a true immersion in nature, right in the heart of Papineauville. Originally laid out by the Montfortian Fathers in the last century, they still retain a unique atmosphere where nature, history, and spirituality come together. The local flora is rich and diverse, inviting visitors to slow their pace and take in the beauty of the woods.
As you walk along the trail, you’ll come across the ruins of a grotto dedicated to the Virgin Mary—a place of contemplation that bears witness to the presence of religious figures and the spiritual significance they attributed to this site. Admission is free, and convenient parking is available at the community center, making it easy for visitors to arrive.
