An Authentic Winter Experience in Duhamel
Every winter, Lac de la Ferme becomes a popular destination for ice fishing enthusiasts. Located just two kilometers south of the village of Duhamel, this body of water is accessible via Chemin du Tour du Lac and benefits from annual stocking carried out through a collaboration between the municipality, the Centre touristique du Lac-Simon the ACPTA (hunters, fishermen, trappers, and archers of the Petite Nation).
It is one of the few places in the region where you can fish for brook trout in the winter. A charming log cabin is available for warming up between catches.
The Centre touristique du Lac-Simon also offers an ice fishing package available by reservation. The package includes drilling five holes, five fishing rods, a container of 18 worms, and hot drinks for the trip back. Don’t forget to bring your folding chairs. Reservations are required at 819-428-7931, at least 24 hours in advance.
