Pure adventure, a nature destination to be experienced to the fullest

Looking for fresh air, spectacular views, and a break from the daily grind? We'll send you on a journey... into the heart of Bowman's wilderness! Parc régional de la forêt is a true playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Rich in scenery, activities, and discoveries, this little-known natural gem is perfect for a getaway alone, with family, or with friends.

Spectacular natural scenery

The park covers more than 680 hectares of unspoiled nature: ancient Laurentian forests, mountains, cliffs, lakes, streams, waterfalls, and even a few hidden caves. It's a place where every trail leads to a surprise, every season reveals a new face, and every panorama makes you fall in love with the land.

Thanks to its remarkable biodiversity and the raw beauty of its landscapes, the park stands out as much for its tranquility as for the richness of its environment. Several natural lookouts offer breathtaking views of the Escalier Reservoir, the Lièvre River, Desjardins, Brochet, and Truite lakes, as well as the agricultural portion of Bowman and the Petite Nation mountains.

Trails accessible to all

With 9 km of marked hiking trails, Parc régional de la forêt welcomes both novice hikers and seasoned walkers. In winter, these same trails are transformed into magnificent snowshoe trails, allowing visitors to enjoy the forest under its blanket of snow.

Two heated shelters (the Chêne and Cèdre shelters) provide a welcome place to take a break in winter, around a wood stove. In summer, they become the perfect spot for an outdoor picnic. Outdoor facilities are provided to allow controlled fires in a safe environment.

Rock climbing for all levels

The park is also a popular climbing spot in the Outaouais region. Thanks to the collaboration of the Fédération québécoise de la montagne et de l’escalade (FQME), more than 40 climbing routes have been developed on the Panorama wall, an impressive rock formation facing southeast, well protected by a mature forest.

The routes, with an average height of 25 meters, are suitable for both beginners and more experienced climbers. The training wall, flat bases, and variety of holds (cracks, slabs, verticals) make this site a safe and stimulating place, even for families with young children. And to take things further, theOutaouais climbing school can offer you lessons and guidance on site.

A modern and eco-friendly reception pavilion

Recently opened, the park's visitor center is a real asset. Located near Lac du Brochet, this modern, eco-friendly, and welcoming building is managed by the park's board of directors, in collaboration with the municipality of Bowman.

It offers a multipurpose room that can accommodate up to 63 people, a large terrace overlooking the lake, and a tourist information desk. Whether you are planning a day of activities or a small event, the pavilion is the ideal starting point for a comfortable and well-informed visit.

Walk on water

Want to change pace? The park has two docks already set up on Brochet Lake and Trout Lake, perfect for canoeing, kayaking, or paddleboarding. These docks are also great for wildlife viewing and relaxing by the water. Two more docks are planned for Desjardins Lake and Cook Lake, to further enhance the water activities on offer.

A nature destination to experience to the fullest

In Petite Nation, getaways take on a whole new meaning. Parc régional de la forêt invites you to slow down, explore, and reconnect with what matters most.
