Kîsisam, "she who bakes with fire".
It's much more than a café-boutique: it's a vibrant place where Aboriginal culture comes alive in every bite, every sip, every encounter. Nestled in the heart of Saint-André-Avellin, this cozy space invites you to discover the world of Neu Uasstessiu Nipish - "the woman of the four colors offall " - and her art of blending culinary traditions with modern boreal inspirations.
The café bistro section has recently been enlarged to seat 20, ideal for team meetings, coworking or well-deserved breaks for cyclists, families or seniors. A sunny, air-conditioned area right next to the windows lets you enjoy the moment in peace and quiet.
Kîsisam offers high-quality barista coffee, part of whose sales support access to drinking water in aboriginal communities. Enjoy an espresso, a shikuteu (chicoutai) latte, a cappuccino with traditional aromas or an Algonquin herbal tea. Homemade fizzy drinks with fir or rose syrup complete the fresh offering.
The refurbished boutique features products from native companies (Khewa, Épices du guerrier, Native Northwest, Oscardo...), local artisans and suppliers of boreal ingredients (Forêt et papilles, Jardins des érables, Maison de la chicouté...).
New: catering service for events, refrigerated display case of individual native pastries, and small customized workshops. Don't miss croissants topped with bison, smoked salmon or wild mushrooms, 3 sisters soup with bannock, or take-out trays.
Kîsisam is an unforgettable gourmet and cultural encounter. We'll take you for a walk... and let you taste the soul of the region.
