Papineauville - Gourmet walk
Vignoble Ste-Angélique
Description
The Ste-Angélique vineyard: A terroir that speaks for itself
Located in Papineauville, the Ste-Angélique Vineyard has taken root in the fertile, clay-rich lands of the region since 2008. Starting with just 200 vines, the vineyard has gradually expanded to nearly 9,000 vines over 2.8 hectares. The vines are cultivated on carefully selected plots, one of which is nestled between two streams, offering a unique and conducive terroir for viticulture.
The vineyard features 14 grape varieties adapted to Quebec’s northern climate, including Marquette, Frontenac Gris, Frontenac Noir, and Frontenac Blanc. These varieties, developed at the University of Minnesota, are known for their resistance to cold and diseases, ensuring quality harvests.
The Ste-Angélique Vineyard offers a diverse range of wines, including reds, whites, rosés, sparkling wines, and even orange wines. Their minimalist approach to intervention and filtration allows the natural aromas of the grapes to fully express themselves year after year. Each visit to the vineyard offers an authentic discovery of Quebec flavors, reflecting the passionate and dedicated work of the owners.
