Bowman - hikes Things to Do
Farmer market
A friendly gathering place
During the summer season, every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Centennial Park takes on the feel of a temporary village with the Bowman Public Market. Small market huts, welcoming stalls and passionate producers invite visitors to take their time discovering local flavours in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
What charms visitors right from the start is the market’s friendly atmosphere. Residents, cottagers and tourists come together, exchange recipes, chat with producers and discover local products, often accompanied by stories, tips and know-how shared with pride.
The Bowman Public Market also stands out for its themed spaces. A small hut dedicated to Outaouais products, in collaboration with Marché de l’Outaouais, highlights regional specialties. Families will also enjoy the Espace ludique, a play area sheltered from the weather, with board games, tables and chairs for both children and adults.
Each week, a different theme brings the market to life, with workshops and activities often connected to local food, traditions or community life. It is a wonderful way to turn a visit to the market into a family-friendly, flavourful and welcoming outing.
Many vendors accept cash only.
