Réserve écologique de la Forêt-la-Blanche
Activities
Description
The Forêt-la-Blanche Ecological Reserve spans the municipalities of Mulgrave-et-Derry, Mayo and Saint-Sixte. It covers 2,052 hectares (5,070 acres). Thanks to 15 km of trails, open year-round, you can explore one of the few old-growth forests in southern Québec and have the opportunity of admiring trees more than 400 years old.
Its rustic trails lead you along streams and lakes to encounter a splendid ecosystem where one can observe the flora and fauna in their natural state.
The reserve is accessible year-round, by hiking or snowshoeing, according to the season. Trails are open at all times and snowshoes can be rented at the interpretation centre on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 AM to 4 PM. User fees can be dropped directly in the collection box at the trailhead when the interpretation centre in closed.
You can also rent the hall.
