Lochaber-Partie-Ouest has everything to delight food, fresh air and heritage enthusiasts.
Verger Croque-Pomme has an orchard full of heritage apple varieties for pick-your own fans. In season, you can also harvest your own raspberries, ground cherries and pumpkins. Part of the apple harvest is transformed into cider (the hard version). Besides harvesting their favourite fruit, visitors may visit an educational observation hive and explore a hiking trail. And of course, children always enjoy a visit to the playground.
Close by you’ll find Verger Wilmont started in 2013. This family business grows 850 apple trees with some 23 varieties available. Their goal is to offer their visitors a most pleasant experience.
Notre petite ferme is undoubtedly a source of local pride. The winner of the Prix de la relève Agricole (rewarding next generation farmers) in 2018 and honoured with the Ordre du mérite Agricole (highlighting Québec’s exceptional farms) the same year, this farm offers fresh organic produce baskets, certified by Ecocert Canada.
Vignoble Grappes et Délices stands out with its original products. Aside from offering pick your own grapes, the vineyard transforms its fruit into an array of items such as soaps, candles, jams and syrups.
Sports buffs will be pleased to know that Lochaber-Partie-Ouest is home to the Thurso Golf Club and history and heritage enthusiasts will be charmed by the St. Thomas Anglican Church, located at the intersection of Rang 5 and the Montée du 4.
