Cycl-O Ottawa River Route

Western loop—87 km

This section, located in the Papineau MRC, is a popular destination for road bicycle enthusiasts. In addition to being part of the Route Verte, cyclists are invited to travel the Cycl-O-Route circuits comprised of three loops of 87, 54 and 55 km respectively. The 87 km Western loop runs through the Petite Nation, from the city of Thurso, eastward through Parc national de Plaisance, the village of Papineauville with its many stores and businesses and ends in Montebello, a prime tourist destination of Petite Nation. Its Château, its chocolate museum, its many tourist accommodations and restaurants will delight you. While travelling this circuit, we invite you to take the ferry, either in Thurso or Fassett, to visit our neighbours in the province, Ontario, where you can travel along the southern shore of the Outaouais River in the United Counties of Prescott-Russell.
