Centre d’art populaire du Québec
Between tradition and modernity, the magical art of everyday life makes you proud to be a Québécois!
The summer of 2024 will mark an important milestone in Quebec’s tourist and cultural landscape: The Center d’Art Populaire du Québec is unfolding with a huge place dedicated to it.
It promises to become a must-see on the Montreal-Ottawa axis.
For the 2024 season, and in a space of more than 6,000 square feet, the Center will present from June 5:
14 exhibitions:
– A unique collection of classic (Georges Racicot, Cléophas Lachance, Léon Ippersiel) and contemporary (Francine Noël, Alain Vachon, Rémi Dumas, Jacynthe Rhéaume, René Dandurand, Michel Therrien) sculptors
– An exceptional exhibition of quilts,
– A beautiful display of calling ducks.
To end with fireworks:
An immersive luminokinetic experience of the works of the great Quebec artist Florent Veilleux (who previously exhibited at the Rockefeller Center in Newport York) and whose exceptional work will now be exhibited in the Outaouais thanks to the generosity of his family.
Finally two dates to note in your diaries:
June 5, opening of the season and inauguration of the new premises.
And from June 21 to 23: the meeting of popular art sculptors from Quebec
Don’t miss this!!!
This place is exceptional because it is dedicated to the Creative Spirit so alive in Quebec and which I wanted to honor with the help of Adrien Levasseur, Michel Therrien and our entire team who are passionately devoted to it.
