hikes : discover snow-covered treasures
Petite Nation remains an extraordinary place to enjoy winter.
Activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and skating are available in several locations across the 25 municipalities.
Sliding remains a must-do activity. The Centre touristique du Lac-Simon in Duhamel and a few other places, including Camp Air-Eau-Bois in Bowman, offer the chance to hurtle down snow-covered slopes.
And what about dog sledding? Year after year, these hikes hugely popular. We are fortunate in Petite Nation to have Meute Tanwenand Gatineau Sled Dogs.
Another great way to enjoy the winter season is mountain biking. You can enjoy this sport right at Fairmont Le Château Montebello thanks to Montebello Vélo de Montagne. There's even a Fatbike festival planned. This is a great opportunity to discover this sport and warm up after a beautiful day outdoors around a cozy fireplace, or even try something new like curling.
For those who prefer to spend winter indoors, shows are broadcast at Salle Desjardins in Papineauville, Pub St-André in Saint-André-Avellin, and Coopérative Place du marché Ripon.
You should also visit the Boutique Passe ton temps in Saint-André-Avellin, where you can discover a variety of board games.
We cannot overlook the Canadian Ski Marathon. This legendary adventure is worth experiencing at least once in your lifetime.
