A wonderful online exhibition about the Papineau RCM
Plaisance, February 28, 2022 - Patrimoine Papineau and Cinémanima inc. are proud to announce the online release today of the video vignettes that were an important part of the last permanent exhibition at the Plaisance Heritage Interpretation Centre - parCOURS d'EAU - Récits des rivières de la Petite Nation et de la Lièvre.
"There was no way that this wonderful exhibition on the geological adventure, the challenge of settlement and the development of the Petite-Nation and Lièvre valleys would not be followed up," says Patrimoine Papineau president Luc Galarneau. With these 79 videos, we invite the public to a true celebration of our region's history and heritage, and a hymn to the daily life of our region, past and present.
For her part, Nicole Catellier, CEO of Cinémanima inc., who conceived, directed and copyrighted the exhibition at the Centre d'interprétation du patrimoine, was delighted to give new life to this impressive historical and ethnographic collection. "It warmed my heart to see over a hundred passionate witnesses expressing their views on their lives and on the magnificent Papineau region," said Nicole Catellier. "Revising and reformatting all these video productions for online viewing was a huge undertaking. We had to ensure that all these testimonials, which tell the story of the emergence and resilience of a strong and proud community, continued to be broadcast to as many people as possible."
The www.parcoursdeau.com website was designed by Jean-Luc Denat of JLDesign.ca.
This Patrimoine Papineau initiative was made possible by financial contributions from the Fonds culturel de la MRC de Papineau, the Municipalité de Plaisance, the Réseau du patrimoine de Gatineau et de l'Outaouais (RPGO), Cinémanima inc. and JLDesign.ca.
