Ceramics exhibition: Making art
Céramique : faire de l'art brings together the creations of ten seasoned Quebec ceramists, each bringing his or her own unique touch to this age-old art form. Pieces such as Forêt silencieuse by Gréta Jonckheere - a series of white porcelain sculptures with pure lines and impressive dimensions - testify to the creative power of transformed clay. This exhibition offers a visual journey enriched by narrative panels, revealing modeling and firing techniques, and the artists' commitment to this demanding and bewitching material.
Curated by renowned designer and ceramist Koen de Winter, the exhibition is a celebration of the ingenuity and perseverance involved in working with ceramics. Trained in Belgium and having practiced in several countries before settling in Quebec, Koen de Winter has passed on his love for this art form with an innovative vision. Now a member emeritus of the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec, he offers an immersive experience that blends history, modernity and aesthetics.
